Notice of appeal or notice of intention to appeal is a legal document that informs the court and another party about the intention of an aggrieved party to appeal against the decision to the higher court.
The law of Tanzania requires that any party who has been aggrieved by the decision of a court and wishes to appeal to the higher court must give notice within the prescribed time before instituting his or her appeal.
The significance of notice of appeal is to allow the court which made the decision to prepare every necessary document for appeal and to inform the winner about the appeal so he can get prepared to reply.
